Maximum precision in airspace surveillance and control
At Indra, we are leaders in primary radars (PSR), delivering accurate detection in complex environments and even under adverse weather conditions. These systems are already operating in some of the world’s most congested airspaces and comply with ICAO and EUROCONTROL international standards.
Our L-band radar includes capabilities for drone detection and configurable electronic elevation scanning, optimising airspace coverage and mitigating the impact of wind farms. Monopulse technology provides more precise data, making it significantly more reliable and rigorous than conventional models. Its design incorporates eco-friendly techniques to reduce the carbon footprint by 40% compared to previous generations.
The S-band NEO version integrates advanced technologies for signal generation, demodulation, and processing, featuring the latest GaN-based transmission systems. It also includes interference mitigation and high-precision capabilities, ensuring effective surveillance in any scenario.
Indra’s MSSR (Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar) NEO is a new, fully digital generation that incorporates cutting-edge technology in the reception chain to enhance system performance.
The MSSR includes reception, decoding, and SMART integration of ADS-B reports generated by the aircraft. Gallium Nitride (GaN) transistors in the transmission chain deliver improved reliability and performance. Its modular design enables customized configurations to meet client requirements, optimising coverage and air traffic management.
Indra’s transportable MSSR (Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar) station is a flexible solution that enables deployment and operation in any environment. It can be used as a permanent operational system or as a contingency solution in emergency situations, offering the capability to operate under adverse conditions and in complex environments.
It integrates power generation elements and communications systems. This is a fully autonomous radar station, which can be deployed and become operational within a few hours, ensuring the safety of the airspace it covers. Its relocation is simple: it only requires two 6-metre containers and no cranes are needed for deployment.
At Indra, we lead the implementation of ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast) with more than 500 radios installed across U.S. airspace.
Its cooperative surveillance system delivers high-precision detection and supports large traffic volumes, handling up to 30,000 replies per receiver.
Its key role in the European SESAR program strengthens the safety and efficiency of global air traffic control.
